Why not just wire it to a switch? If your wanting a igntion-on hot wire the radio would be the obvious awnser and the easiest by the shifter.. Not sure how to explain but here is a wiring diagram from you.

A. He needs a certain # of posts and membership time to see attachments.
B. Using a fuse-tap(mini-blade in this case) is far preferable IMO to hacking existing wiring.
C. You will only get ACC(Accessory). and START(only on while cranking) from the radio harness, not solely an IGN(Ignition/RUN position), which from the question posed is what he states he's after.

View page 13 of the SJB-wiring specificially, and all of those are hot in run(IGN) and start, F12, F14, F16-F19. Easy and cheap for fuse tap, and the extra small(er) gauge wiring run that you would need.

I believe there is one tied to IGN that doesn't have a fuse(as in unused) but I don't remember, probably easily found if you wish to skim some of the other diagrams, or just test the couple of non-fused open socket in the SJB itself later.

Pic of SJB in the passenger-side kickpanel with the plastic covers off:

That specifically is from a picture for using F20(hot in start) for defaulting the TCS to off, so ignore the highlighted one.

I think I used the 10A just above the 5a, one column over and all the way down.

Just had to find one myself for an install - the +12 ignition wire is directly under the steering column (just behind steering wheel, remove plastic panel held on with three bolts). There is a harness on the drivers side of the steering column, you're looking for a white / yellow wire.
