Thanks to everyone who ACTUALLY contributed to the thread. The adjustor is going to be sent out...hoping for good news that they will paint the whole car. We are not trying to get free stuff but it is going to look terrible once they repaint just a couple of pieces whereas like others stated it matched before.

Insurance will almost certainly only pay to blend the paint into the adjoining panels. Some body shops will make a deal though with you that for supplemental money out of your pocket they will repaint the entire car.

I just noticed that you're saying the frame is bent. No offense, but I've been in a few accidents and this damage doesnt look like it'd bend the frame on a corvette. It looks like a glancing blow where her tire in an suv or pickup and she cut a corner clipping that front end. That would not bend a frame. Did the corvette end up getting up on a curb or off road and that caused the frame damage? If so, it is possible the insurance company will total the car. If they do, I'd totally recommend buying it back after they total it and getting it fixed. Bent frame straightening wildly varies, but that cosmetic damage doesnt look terrible and could be a fun resto project.

The frame is def bent. The pictures do not show actually how bad it is. The frame is pushed back against the headlight which is why it won't go down. If you lift up the hood you can def tell it is bent or curled. The lower part of the bumper is pushed in a inch and a half. The car is only worth 4,500 so I am sure they will try to total it. This car is in GREAT shape otherwise except for paint and interior. Just had 1k worth of work done to replace all that was wrong.

i would say it depends on the insurance company and the claims adjuster.

I dont know if it varies, but I know the mustang that I had totalled the repairs exceeded 50% of the KBB value. Insurance did offer to sell it back for 800 but it was in really bad shape. Given this, I'd say try to buy it back and fix it if it's a car you want to keep in the family. It'll be a salvage title, but if you ever do decide to sell it assuming it gets totalled, just keep good documentation and pics of what the damage was and repairs and you would have no problem selling it Im sure...but I'd definitely go for fixin it.

Yea, I think we are going to get it fixed. Pretty sturdy car considering the age. Was hoping to get it painted yellow as the C6 we have.
