18x9.5s all round ?
I know that's the setup for the GT500's and I see some posts about people running that here so I thought about that for my daily driver '09 GT.
I wanted to get those below because they're really light, Tire tack recommends x8.5 Front x9.5 Back but I thought would 9.5s all round be ok?

Typical offset on the '05-'09' (and probably '10) is in the mid to upper 40's. Those will work just fine. With a narrower tire up front, the offset will barely be noticeable. I'm running the '07 SVT GT500 wheels in 9.5" all around and have 275's all around (TOO wide up front). For the sake of your intent to save weight, I'd definitely run no wider than a 255 up front and the 8.5" front wheel will be perfect.
I suspect that the weights listed aren't accurate. Both wheels can't weigh 19.0 lbs.

Are there any benefits/arguments for having wider wheels up front????
Most of the "track minded" cars like the Boss 302 or even the BMW's M3 run 18x8.5F 18x 9.5R so I'm thinking if it's good enough for those it should be good enough for my 09 GT, that's why I'm wondering why the Shelbys run x9.5 all around....

BTW, the 2011+ Shelby GT500 Performance Packages have 19x9.5s on the front and 20x10s on the rear.

I have 18x9.5 GT500-style wheels all the way around and UPR suspension on my 2006 GT. I originally went with 275/40-18 NT05s all the way around so they could be rotated. After those wore out, my dad gave me the OEM Goodyears off of his Shelby (255/45 front, 285/40 rear) and I'm running those now. I would say the handling is more balanced with the same size tires all the way around (plus you can rotate them) but when you stagger the tires with larger rears, the handling balance shifts more toward rear grip. More rear grip is safe, but "loose is fast."
I have an open-track day coming up in May, and I'm leaning toward a set of 18x10s +45mm all the way around with R-compound tires as a backup set of wheels & tires for the car.
