I really couldn't care less. I'm not worried about some pissed off e-thug trying to find me. Lol

I'm going to make this point just to play devil's advocate.

I was telling some guy about my father's old Cessna 421B Golden Eagle, and I told him the tail number.

He came back telling me my address. Creepy.

Not sure if you can access BMV databases on that like you can on the FAA, though

I dont bother blurring mine. If someone wants to come find me, be my guest. Have plenty of security cameras and guns to protect the property.

I just noticed the other day while looking for a new apartment that Google Maps Street View now blurs all the license plates and faces of people. There is a weird issue with blurring in weird places now though too.

Oh, trust me, I am well prepared to defend what I have. I'm prepared for the zombie apocalypse lol. 5 years ago I wouldn't have cared, but after the wife, kid, etc., it just seems trivial to potentially put them at risk over something as stupid as arguing with an idiot on the internet and having it escalate. The guy I was referring to in my 1st post had a "favor" done to obtain my friend's address. Not only did he mess up his car, but he tried to poison his dog with antifreeze and even followed him while he picked up his daughter from school. I won't get into details about what happened after that, but it all came out in court lol. It just seems better, to me, to at least attempt to prevent something like that. You don't even have to make anyone angry, it just takes a crazy person. I'm not paranoid but, in my opinion, the least the amount of personally identifiable information of mine that's on the internet the better.

I won't personally, but other than some minor "whatever" moments in the few forums I visit, I tend not to have enough of a daily routine with them that I would ruffle any feathers.

I can see doing this not really just for the amount of LE that are members of this site or others, but for some cases where you'd get some nut that would take exception to something said, done, or a simple personality clash. Then have some aquiantance that owes a favor with access to DMV records via whatever job they have, and then you have an insurance claim, possibly a long term one.

So I do get why many would wish to, even though my personal thought is many of those people might be overestimating their percieved importance.

Always thought it seemed stupid to blur the plate. It's not like it's blurred when you drive the car, so what's the point in blurring it for a picture?

"Just because you're not paranoid, don't mean they're not out to get you"...
