Hey Guys, I need to pick your brains for a second...

I have an '05 Silver GT with the windows tinted. I have about 30-40 fine scratches on the inside of each of my front windows from putting the windows down. I spoke to the guy who performed the install (he also installed the clear bra for me), and he said that the scratches are because on the '05's, Ford omitted the felt that "cleans" the inside of the glass as the window moves. I have spoken with my dealer (I get a short whiff of fertilizer everytime I talk to them) and they said that there is no fix and no aftermarket part to fit...

I can get the windows retinted, but they will just scratch again... Has anyone fixed this problem, and have you been able to get anything from Ford? I have been assured (snort) from the dealer that even if I can find an aftermarket part, they would take good care of me...

This is the only detail of my new Stang that I don't like... I know, I know, I'm splitting hairs....

Whoa, so some of you are getting scratches on your tint?

I haven't gotten my windows tinted, yet, but if they're going to get scratched... I'd imagine it'd look horrible.

Can anyone else confirm this?

 

both my tinted windows are scratched now. some installers will put a felt strip in for you. when i have mine redone, i'm going for the felt.
