Default Help identifying a part - 2011 GT

I just took delivery of my 2011 GT. There was quite a bit of shipping damage to the paint but thankfully that seems like it's going to get worked out.

That said, there are two plastic parts on the under body that are hanging off. Seller states it wasn't like that and the way they were ripped off the bolts indicates it happened while driving in reverse. I'm assuming they just got snagged on something. Looking at the parts, I can't imagine they are expensive but want to know what they are and if I can order new ones myself (instead of having Ford replace / install).

Thanks in advance!

I think the seller is feeding you a crock of chit.

I can't tell from the closeup pics but I'm thinking he tore the undercarriage pan (I don't know the real name for it). Whatever it is, you KNOW when something like that gets torn off (unless your deaf and have no feeling in your azz). I'd get that car on a lift and look real close for any other undercarriage damage. That just doesn't happen on it's own...

Could that have been done by the shipper?

Luckily I don't think it's the the pan. The rest of the undercarriage looks cherry, haven't got it on a lift but I got under it. Here are some pics I found online that show a better shot. I also think I found the part. See part diagram below. Part number: 9B007. What do you think?

Looks like they protect each side of the saddle style gas tank... Probably important. Good find on the pictures and part number.

Fortunately they are only $40 each and simply bolt on so no factory install required. It looks like it got snagged on a curb while being backed over it (the way the plastic is shredded).

Yeah, what Nuke said.

Looks like shipper damage as they backed off the truck.

The undercarriage pic really helped explain it. I was basing my guess on the 05-09 undercarriage. But in your pics, they still looked pretty mangled and I can only imagine that it had to be some contact with the undercarriage in more other than one location than those guards. But if you say the undercarriage looks cherry otherwise, then ok.

Well the direction they are torn indicates it happened while in reverse. So odds are it wasn't going all that fast when it happened. It was in a showroom so my guess is that it happened while getting it or out of the showroom or that it happened while unloading it from the shipping truck.

Looking at the stock undercarriage pic and comparing that to the parts diagram would you agree I got the part number right?
