Default 2011 gt boss intake install

Im lost dazed and confused concerning the install of the intake. Has anyone installed the intake with a airraid cai? How did you deal with the check light engine issue? Do I have to purchase the install kit to use my cai?

For those that installed the intake and experienced the airraid cai without the intake was there a positive performance?
With just the cai alone there was more tq and -1 hp. This is according to AM dyno numbers. Now I'm wondering if the boss intake is even worth it.

Any thoughts from those who have the intake? that have used a cai before the intake install?

I had a tune with mine, so I had no cel. I also bought the $12 install kit from Latemodelrestoration. I'm told it's a big difference at lower elevations, but up where I'm at, the Boss isn't getting enough air to pick up too much power.

Latemodel Restoration $12 kit. Hmnn. Did this kit cause any check engine light to come on?
Wow elevation makes a difference? interesting. Can you tell the difference after installing the boss intake? Man I bet, it runs like a banshee after 5500 rpm.

Im also thinking about getting a aluminum driveshaft to make up for the lost of low end torque. I already got LCA relocation brackets, Im doing research to see if driveshaft and relocation bracket will work together.

I installed it all at once, so I can't tell what was doing what. I got the CAI, IM and tune for 91oct from Steeda. Very happy with it. The kit was for the install, I haven't heard anything about a cel.

I think the kit MoshpitMad is talking about is the hose kit. You will need a tune to turn off the CEL. Without a tune, you will not gain anything from the install of a Boss intake. It needs a tune to correct the A/F ratio.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. The tune clears the CEL on the Boss Intake install. The $15 kit does the same as the Boss manifold install kit that cost $180. Hmnnn.
