Default 2013 Mustang, 2000 miles - problem #1

The passenger air-bag sensor is on the fritz. When I have a passenger in the car the light up by map lights that reads "Passenger Airbag off" is illuminated.

Off to the dealer we go. hi-ho.

And for the record the passenge is above the needed weight to have the bag on.

Perhaps this passenger is above the seats weight limit? Lol

My brother was really light and he would set the light off. I would tease him about it.

My girlfriend weighs all of 95lbs and when she sits in the seat the light comes on and the airbag is turned off. It's a safety feature.

EDIT: I should really start reading posts thoroughly before typing, lol...oh well

i believe the sensor is supposed to think that under certain weight, it might be a child and deactivates the airbag.

unfortunate, my fiancee isn't that light yet .....

That's nothing new, my 110lb wife makes it do the same thing as well as my 20lb work bag when its in the seat. They re-calibrated my 2005 for the same issue (it was a recall then though). I haven't taken in the 2011 since I doubt they'll do anything about it (no recall or TSB this time).

I have a 125lb coworker than trips it depending on how her legs are positioned.

Since you're taking yours in, let me know what happens.
