2010 Mustang - Updating Ford Sync from 3.01 to 3.1
I have a 2010 Mustang with the 3.01 version of Sync (no nav). I tried updating it to 3.1 to no avail. I followed the instructions to the letter. After inserting the USB key in the car (with the engine running) I navigated the menu until I got to "Install Application." I get the first "Installation Complete" message within seconds, but then after sitting there for literally 20 minutes (sometimes longer, as I tried this multiple times) I get nothing else. Nothing at all.
The instructions said to wait about 10 minutes after seeing the first "Installation Complete" message, which I certainly did. Several times. I'm a software developer in real life (mostly C# and JavaScript in ASP.NET and SharePoint environments), so I'm not exactly a dummy when it comes to technology. But this Sync stuff... who at Microsoft wrote this? Does it even work?
Anyone else get this junk to update or should I just leave well enough alone?

Maybe take it to the dealer? Oh and hey - as a systems engineer, developers shouldnt be updating any apps except those they've written. You know what I'm talkin bout! lol!
PS - We need to see some pics of your car too. Sounds pretty sweet.
