Man, I hope you can get it back to the condition you got it in. Otherwise it'd be pretty effed up to mess his **** up and not buy it.

The GT's did not come with a strut bar. The only strut bar available was the GT500. It is pretty simple and has tight tolerances. Im not surprised that it rubbed. The hood on the GT500 was tall enough it didnt rub, but the stock v6 and GT hoods were a bit of a hit and miss.

Dont try to conceal it with paint, etc.. because that's a powdercoated part. Not painted. He'll tell immediately. Just tell him that youre sorry but it doesnt fit and since neither of you knew, hopefully no harm done. Offer to respray it yourself or offer him $40 for his damaged POS and resell it yourself for 50. If I lived in the area I'd give you that for it.

Heres what a little time, patience and elbow grease can get you. (these are from my 06)
