Many folks have run no-tune CAI's for months and then a code appears.

Just let me say that you really WOULD be surprised with the difference between the stock tune and even a custom 87 octane tune on your car.
I hear you and thanks. It did say no tune needed thats why I got that one. Just ordered my flowmaster axle back. Who knows, I may get a tuner someday, never say never. But at least I will already have exhaust and CAI. This thing is already going to get me in trouble. I just got rid of my 4 banger wrangler. talk about slow. lol

Why do we have one of these silly posts every few months?

Don't think of the tuner as $300. What you are really paying for are the custom tunes. Buy a tuner with tunes from amercianmuscle.com, brenspeed.com, vmptuning.com, just to name a few.

There is more to a tune than peak hp gain. This bull**** chip you speak of isn't going to give you better throttle response, better shifts on an auto, disabled speed limtier, the ability to adjust spark and fuel, etc, etc, etc.

Ignorance is the reason these chips even exist.

Okay - time to lock this one and clean.

People clean it up on your posts in other threads.

OP asked a question - you weren't clear what you wanted and got answers. You like the look of the "no tune required" CAI and aren't really interested in performance at this time. So stay with what you have because it currently fills your need.

If you find you want a performance enhancement, or if you start to throw lean codes with the no tune required CAI, don't bother with the "chips" on the S197 platform. They aren't used on this model and you have to get one of the handheld tuners and tunes.

And the name calling could end in a ban - or at least an infraction and being watched for future problems.
