Tuner or gears?

Default Tuner or gears?

I should have my 13 V6 AT car within the next 3 weeks and i have a question for you mustang experts-------Which would give the car the most in performance gains? (0-60) A tuner or 3.73s? Which one would really "wake it up"?
Which is the best bang for the buck (seeing that a tune is 1/3 the cost)

You could always get a tune and gear combo kit which would save you money in the long run. If you cant, since it is an auto trans, the tune would help alot more because it will firm the shift points and increase throttle response and lag. If you REALLY wanna wake up the car, 4.10s would be a better gear for 0-60 times. Whichever you choose, make sure you go with a reputable company so that the tune is good (i recommend BAMA) and so the gears dont have too much whine. Hope this helps, good luck!

You will need a custom tune to update your gear ratio, otherwise your shift points and speedo will be off so getting 3.73 first won't be ideal, unless you get a tune/gear combo. If you get a tune from a tuner that gives you free updates, then you'll be set ie. Bama/AM.

I haven't driven a '13 but the tune should increase throttle response. Ford likes to make their auto's more mild. I have 4.10's with Brenspeed tune and I always have to feather my throttle if I don't want to spin.

+1 on the tune first, then re-tune for the best performance with those gears as alkemist stated.
