Come....join the Dark Side!!!! :)
Depends what you call "new".
If you mean no miles this year from the factory you are correct.
However.... if you spend a couple of days on the net you can find a GT500 owned personally with miles less than 10k for far less than 40k.
There are countless sites where people sell them. Just google GT500 for sale and they will come up listed by states in many websites and you can find one pretty easily.
I'd go for the GT500 over the BOSS.
Heck.. even ALL my buds that work over at Ford say they would EASILY pick our 08GT500 over this year's BOSS any day.
And after driving one, and being very impressed... I'd still stay with my Shelby without a doubt.

Show me a '13 GT500 for under 40K (not broken or damaged) and I'll buy it.. Hell you can't even find one under 50K
I don't know why you'd even think of finding one for that much when the
GT sells for 30k very often.
Ours was a LOT less than 40k, but again it was not a 2013.
Like I said had only 3k something miles and was babied.
I know PLENTY of others that have found deals like this and have
posted about it on sites.
It's not that hard.
As I said before... they are usually either BABIED, or torn on.
Usually there are no in betweens.
Example:
http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars...0_157328342_11
This site is pretty good about finding deals, and there are other sites as well.
www.carsforsale.com
Lay back... search even if it takes a week or two...and
you can find a low mileage one for a good price pretty damn easy.
A 13 you are NOT gonna find for under 40k unless you get super weird odd lucky.
Heck MSRP is above 50k.
You can find one IN the 40's if you dig and a patient, but will be in the upper 40's.
