Default I promise there is a TEK question inside here...

OK... So I've been debating on putting up a poll to help me decide what I should spend my "fun money" on... atleast to see what you folks think...

My options where: 1) prepainted 3D500 spoiler, 2) lowering springs, 3) hookers and blow.

Well, CJ Pony Parts made it simple... They have their promo back where you get a $30 gift card for every $100 you spend... I missed out on this promo last month so I'm glad they brought it back... I just ordered the 3D500 spoiler from them for $329 and now I'm going to have to spend that $90 on something... Leads me to the TEK question...

I think I'm going to order one of the Hood Strut kits with the gift cards. Is there any feedback on the ones they have? Has anyone ordered a set from CJPP? I remember there being some issues with the ones AM was selling because of the mounting bracket, but can't recall the specifics?

Is this anything I need to know about installing hood struts? Could it cause problems with creasing the hood if I try to lower the hood with them on it? That's my fear is that I might be overzealous with closing it that the struts cause my hood to bend...

Anyone have that problem?

Thanks in advance... and I promise to post up pics of the spoiler installed...

Don

What? I didn't know about that promo going on!... Time to buy!

As for hood struts I worry as well with them. I don't know anything about the ones from CJPP, I've seen the Roush ones and they mount pretty clean though, but I've also heard bad stories about other ones.

How well would these work with a fiberglass hood? I have a Cervinis hood.. Any issues?

From what I've seen and heard they don't work too well with fiberglass hoods.

We have never installed them on a fiberglass hood but they should hold up just fine. My 01 Bullitt has a fiberglass hood and I have been using the drilled version for over 6 years and never once had a problem.

I have a set on my 05 and love them! Never had a problem and it really looks nice instead of having the factory rod.
