Any way to change the way the rev limiter works?

Any way to change the way the rev limiter works?
I hate how the rev limiter just kills all power when you hit it.. it has stopped many a glorious burnout. In my 03 mustang i could hit the limiter during a burnout and keep going, but in my 2011 if i hit the limiter is basically kills power for a full second it seems... wheels stop spinning etc.
Anyone else know this feel? Anyone know of a solution?

I don't think he's saying he constantly wants to beat on the limiter.. but accidentally reaching it should not kill all momentum.
it was designed that way for a reason (obviously - to protect the engine), but not everyone feels they need that level of nannying on their car : )

Either that, or feather the throttle better. You don't need to hit the limiter to keep the wheels spinning.
The rev limiter acts the way it does to protect you. I think most prefer the way it works (hard stop) as opposed to a gradual reduction in spark leading up to the true limit.

You could increase the rev limiter to a higher setting with the tuner but you'd still bounce off it. Mine is set at 6500 RPM (down from Brenspeeds setting of 6800) as opposed to the factory setting of 6250 and I still bounce off of it when I don't pay attention.

entaille is correct
I am referring to hitting the rev limiter in 2nd with wheels spinning, i guess ill just have to let off or ease up on the throttle before hitting it, but thats not my style
my 03 would keep the tires spinning while at rev limiter, this 2011 kills power for too long
Do your burnouts in second gear. You need speed, not RPM, for the burnout.

every time i full throttle on second gear, it a matter of very little time before i get so close to hit the rev limiter, kind of suck but I guess it safer this way..i tear up spining madly all the way in two...gotta play with it if i dont want to hit the rev limit...I see thoses crazy turbo video where they bounce the rev like 5 time before shifting, no idea why, guess there is a reason

Once you tires are spinning, they're spinning . . . Not sure what the benefit is to spinning them faster, other than to heat them a little quicker. Just back off the throttle a hair and keep it a few hundred RPM below redline.
This isn't intended to be critical of you OP, but you're looking for a technical solution to a driver "problem" .

just bought a MSD 2 step rev limiter, will report back. I read that fords rev limiter pulls fuel, this rev limiter pulls spark and holds it at a certain rpm rather than killing the power..
wish someone told me about this product earlier.
