Shaker 500 Replacement - Using Sat/Nav
Right now I have the shaker 500 unit, currently using the stock navigation and Sirius radio. I'm looking to replace with an aftermarket head unit, one that would also support nav and satelite radio. When replacing, would the inputs for the satelite and nav antennas work directly from the current setup? I'd be using the wire harness adapter, but from what I understand, this will encompass all the audio components (speakers, subs), but not the sirius and nav inputs. Will there be anything else required? Thank you.

check out Chrutchfields, their web site is very good. I replaced my shaker 500 in my 2005 this summer, the directions from crutchfields were specific to my model and the tech line was easy to access and answered my one question with ease. I had never done anything like this before, it took about 2 hours start to finish. Good luck.

Thanks RG. I've been using them as a refference. The stereo install itself seems easy enough. What I'm having trouble with finding is on the sat and nav inputs. I found an image and diagram of the inputs on the back of the Shaker/Nav radio I'm currently using. For the sat input, it looks like its just an antenna, whereas on the new head units I'm looking at, it looks like a 4 pin input. I can't find any firm documentation on how this would work.

Mine is a 2008 as well,I just used a scosche wiring harness and ran a cpl extra wires, you can get the PAC interface unit but it is quite expensive. As far as your factory nav,I'm not sure you can integrate it,your new head unit should have its own nav as well as be Serius satellite ready. Which head unit are you looking at buying?

Then it's up to you on the harness, you can plug and play with the PAC or get the generic scosche one and do some wiring yourself. I didn't wire in the speed control option on mine cause I never use it,the harness cost me $12 from bestbuy and the 5V resistor was $5 at source.
