Default Replacement Motorcraft Battery..will it have the indicator eye?

I need a new battery for my '09 GT, and I'd like to get another that has the indicator eye on the top like my original battery does. Do replacement Motorcraft battery's have the indicator eye? If so, I'll wait till Monday and get one from the dealer. If not, I'll get another aftermarket battery. I've had GM's in the past, and their replacement batterys do not have the indicator eye like the original that came in the vehicle. Wondering if its the same for Ford.

I believe it does. The illustrations on the Motorcraft website show a round circle on top, indicating an "eye", however your best bet is to call you local dealer service dept. and they will tell you for sure.

I believe it does but there are more accurate ways of determining your battery's health using a simple volt meter and reading the terminal voltage after the car has not run for a good 12 or more hours.

Thanks for the replies. I realize that the magic eye is not the best indicator of battery condition. They are kind of nice for a quick check though that I do each time I check oil.

The eyes are a false sense of security. They only test voltage, not amps or load bearing capability. Used to work in auto parts stores. 2 in 5 had a green light and would test the voltage fine. The second you put it on a load it it would fail and the light would turn red or go out. Few minutes later light would be back on and turn green.
