Default LED side marker lights

I want to upgrage to LED bulbs in my side markers, does anyone know what size they are and what are the best LED's to use. I was on superbrightled.com and they had 2 pages of the 194 LED's. Which one are most guys using?

Be forewarned, if you don't use the LED's with built in resistors, or wire in your own, you can use a max of 2 LED bulbs on your marker/turn signal circuit, otherwise NONE of them will light up. Something with how the computer senses the low voltage draw (although it killing the whole circuit doesn't seem like an appropriate reaction). Found this out after I bought LED's for all my markers and front turn signals. Ended up only using them in the rear side markers because I used smoked markers and you can't get that nice red color from regular bulbs (they tend to look pink).

I was just going to use the led's in the back and front marker lights, not the turn signals. My saleen has the turn signals up by the grill. Can you buy LED's with built in resistors. If you can do you have a name.

Well, like I said, if you do that they won't work. I don't remember the name of the brand that has built in resistors, they've been mentioned here before. They're a little pricey.

I'm interested in this too. I like being more visible...

if you replace all the incandescent bulbs to LED, the LEDs do not draw enough current and the car believes there are bulbs burnt out as it is not recognizing the load of the LED.
Superbrightleds.com offers LED flashers or resisters to wire in paralell with the LEDs. The resistors simulate a bulb, which is essentially what an incandescent bulb consists of.
I replace only my rear markers so I didn't run across this issue but the website does explain this.
I did also replace my map lights with brighter Lumen blue LEDs which I think looks good and are brighter than the white bulbs.

Thanks I will give them a try. I'm just going to do the marker lights for now.

Smile LED Lighting Side Marker Lights

If you want a cool look, then take apart the lenses, get 194 bulb adapters, and install two red LED Strips in the rear side marker lights. I did this on my '09 Mustang GT Convertible and inside the smoked lenses, all you can see is a series of small red lights in a row of two horizontal strips. No resistors are needed for the marker lights at all as they are in the parking light circuit.

Thank you for this thread! I spent 2 days trying to figure out what I did wrong as I was re-assembling my Mustang. 3 LED marker lights is the MAX, the 4th put it over the edge and shut them all down!
