Default Best short shift kit?

My previous car, Protege5, had a fantastic short shift kit that I threw in it. While the stock shifter in my Mustang is decent, I want the best because shifting is what I love doing the most! I prefer as short of throws as possible, with very positive engagement (not concerned if it's "notchy", as long as it gets into the gear quickly), and without introducing any extra noise from rattles and the like.

So far, from my use of the "search" function here, it looks like MGW is my best option. I didn't delve past page two of my search though because I have ADD, so I'm posting this thread in case I missed any better options.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I know, some of you are thinking, "Protege5 with a short shift kit, and now this kid has a Mustang GT?" In my defense, that was the ONLY powertrain modification I made on that car, solely because I am obsessed with good shifters. I didn't put a fartbucket exhaust and a grenade decal on it, that car was just the best option I had at the time for my needs. I'm a V8 guy at heart. Just didn't want anyone to think I'm a ricer or anything

well, ill stick to my suggestion when everyone brings this topic up. look up MGW. i have one in my 03gt and absolutely love it. Its fully adjustable to adjust the height and throw of the shifter. performs very well, gets into gear quick.

Many people in this forum swear by it. as well do I. check it out!

Another vote for MGW...

I have their GT500 shifter on my TR-6060 conversion, and it it simply a work of art, both in build quality and function.

Personally, I haven't messed with many other shifters but I'm happy with my Ford Racing one. Looks just like all the other ones just no name stamped on it...

Also, when I mention that I don't like noisy shifters, I'm not talking about the "thunk" into the gear. I just don't want it to rattle. I love hearing the mechanical transition into the gear, but not any noises that sounds like something is loose.

Never heard anyone complaining of an MGW rattling.
