Question Tuner

What kinds of things can a tuner do for my car? I have a v6 2011 mustang if that matters.

It makes into a different car, Sharper throttle response depending on octane levels and the tune you pick. Much more low end torque. Best way to explain is, it awakens your mustang!

SCT tuner with CUSTOM tunes is a great first performance mod! Custom tune will be tailored specifically for your car. You can also add a CAI, for a little more performance gain.

CAI=Cold Air Intake

The CAI allows more air flow but on these engines, the tune in the PCM (Power Control Module) needs to be modified in order for the electronics to allow the engine to make USE of that extra air and the associated fuel adjustments. The custom tune does a lot to improve driveability, shift points (on automatics) and power addition. Thr bulk of the changes to the tune that affect performance are not something that you, the user, can access; those parameters are in the tune written by folks like AM/Bama, Brenspeed, VMP and others. However, the tuner will still allow you to make other changes such as for tires size and gears (although if you have an automatic and change gears, a tune adjustment for the shift points would be optimal but NOT necessary) as well as a few other adjustments. A CAI and custom tune combo is one of the best first mods.
