Default NEED TUNER HELP!

Hey guys im new to tuning. i actually bought a used sct x3 tuner. i made sure it was unmarried and such. well i plugged into my 05 gt and went through the whole process. it said tune was complete to unplug and it started flashing "failsafe mode" and my car wouldnt start. i tried 87, 91 and 93 with all of the same result. i flashed back to stock and it started up. any ideas on why my car wont accept the tune???

I have a couple of questions for ya, then I may be able to help more.

First, the guy you bought the tuner from had to return his car to stock and gave you the tuner AFTER he returned it to stock. Are you sure this happened?

Second, did you order a tune through someone and then have them email you a tune? You can't load a tune from the SCT if the tune file belonged to the previous owners car.

Third, If you did order your own tune file, then you should have sent the tuner your SCT serial number along with your strategy code or PCM number. Did this happen?

Answer those for me right quick!!

There are several different pcm codes, you need a tune written for your specific code.

If the custom tunes were not created specifically for your car, they will not work.
Call American Muscle or Brenspeed and order custom tunes. They will be able to create custom tunes specifically for your car and send to you via email to upload to the SCT handheld tuner. They will need to know your PCM code number, modifications and tire size. Good luck!

If the tunes in the tuner were from SCT, then they should have worked on your car but you wouldn't get the performance you were looking for. The fact they didn't work on your vehicle leads me to believe they were custom tunes (much better than the canned SCT tunes) for the previous owners car which will NOT work on your car unless your PCM has the same strategy code as the previous owner's car's PCM.
