I just picked up my first convertible, 07 V6 Base, a few weeks ago. Although I tested the top at the dealer, today was the first day I had an opportunity to use it. I noticed that:

1. The top does not fully fold flat when opened. It's close, but it seems that it could fold another couple of inches.

2. When closed it stops a few inches from the front sill. I have to pull it down to get the latches to a point that I can latch the top.

Is this normal for a convertible top? If not, is there a way to adjust?

I have a v6 2007 convertible... mine doesnt do that.. it opens and closes all the way... however... what was the temp when you opened and closed it? if its REALLY cold I could see that happening...

 

It was about 50 degrees.

 

I have an 06 and depending on the temperature, the top may come closer to the front when closing or not. On hotter days yes, on cooler days, no. Also, if the top has been down for many days, no, the top will not come as close as when I put the top up and down on a daily basis.

It seems like yours is pretty normal at this point.

 

Whew! I was afraid I got suckered having never owned a vert before, I guess I'll just have to wait until it warms up a bit more and check it then.

Totally normal. Depends on temperature outside and whether or not top has been sitting in the sun while pulled up. when I had vinyl top on my '02 I used to like having to pull it closed the last 1" or so. I always felt like it meant things were still tight and fit the way they came from the factory.
