+1. I am not really sure how the term Cold Air Intake got started, but a more accurate term would be a velocity stack. You do not gain any thing in the ambient air intake temperature department. What you do gain is the ability to pull in a larger volume of air and the flow is straightened up.

Gotta respectfully disagree.
Even at idle rpm the velocity of the airflow thru the intake is so fast that it cannot absorb a sufficient amount of heat from the intake wall to cause its temperature to appreciably increase.
Also, the airflow has what is called a boundary layer, which is a thin layer of air next to the intake wall with an extremely slow velocity. This enables the boundary layer to become an insulating barrier between the intake wall and the air's main flow volume, which further reduces the amount of heat the air absorbs from the intake wall.

The IAT increasing while the engine is idling does matter if you're either at a long stoplight or in line getting to the drag strip starting line. That's because the ECU starts pulling timing when the IAT exceeds approx. 100F to prevent pinging, and thus the engine will not be producing max power during the initial few seconds of acceleration.

It'll be fine.

Did you run a baseline pull to see what your numbers were stock?

Currently on Deployment, doing a run when I return later next month and then I'll install the exhaust.
