That looks like rust where the electrodes pulled out of the plug? Did you get water on your engine at anytime? I could see that water, plus electricity would create oxidation (rust) and cause the electrodes to pull apart like that.

im really not sure if its rust or not. it doesnt have a very red hue and its not flaky at all. the service tech didnt seem to indicate it was. the most water the car has seen is when i spray it down with a mist from time to time when cleaning the engine, but a lot of people do that and dont have this problem.
