10000 rwhp?
1000 RWHP yeah right...
Evidently this is "internet" horsepower. "Internet" horsepower is BHP x 2.5
I suppose maybe it can be done, if you've got an unlimited budget and don't mine replacing the motor evey time it blows up once a week.
Realisticaly what the heck are you even gonna do with 1000 rwhp??
What car out there could stand up to that assuming you ever get to the ground which, unless you have a very specialized supension set up like what you would find under a proffesional drag car, aint going to happen.
There's a few people in my area who claim to have 9 second street cars.
Yeah the cars actually do run in the 9's but they are race cars with mufflers, two seats and working lights and they are absolutely horrible to drive on the street.
Such absolute BS.
Now I'll climb into my flame suit.

Hey sicroush.. since you have all that money you ever thought of sharing the wealth with some of your fellow stang bois??? I mean i sure could use the help on payin of my note.. cause its ganna be another 5 years before im dept free..lol.. well good luck on you r 1000Hp i don't understang why you would want that much i dont' think there are tires sticky enough to hold you down... must be nice..
Ya'll are gonna **** off the wizard...
SicRoush...No Need to get angry and take things personally. Read between the BS and you will find the answers to your questions. The 4.6 block would barely take 600 if that. You'll need a forged block such as the 5.4 that'll be in the Shelby Cobra. Even then getting that kind of power to the ground will be a miracle. You'd have better times with less horsepower that actually sticks. The Skylines are AWD so they can actually put power to pavement. With the mustang it's just not gonna happen without some serious investment...basicly you'd end up with a frankenstein car with a mustang body.
And to the rest...F*ck, or ****, or ****ers still isn't acceptable. It's the context these kinds of words are used in that the forum wants to avoid, not the letters.

OK Boys..
Come on now.. don't make me have to delete this thread... I am quite interested in what the max horsepower of the 281 is.
SicRoush... What is yoru problem man... I didn't see anything that should have inspired you to come of like THAT. Are you always that testy, or did you just have a really really really really really bad day? Please, don't make another post like that.
and Others... just because a user goes balistic flaming and bashing.. doesn't mean that it is OK for you to reciprocate. Whatch your mood please so we can continue this discussion respectfully.
and yes... I deleted the "Hot" posts.

I still don't understand why someone needs 1000hp for bracket racing.
The platform is simply silly to use, and will take MUCH more than 20k to get 1000 horses out of the new Mustangs and ONTO THE GROUND. Keywords there.
You'll need an entirely new drivetrain pretty much, and probably reworking of the chassis itself so it won't twist when and if you ever got the power to the ground.
If you are serious about spending this sort of money, and bracket racing, I'd assume you'd have some basic knowledge on where to start, and how to do this stuff.
Most serious gainers are either close to a specialized machine shop, or are a machine shop with a lot of experience. Past basic bolt-ons, and into custom fabrication ( the 700+hp club ) this really is required. Just prepare to spend a lot more than 20k.

How about just replacing the engine..
In the "Ford Racing Parts" book... page 29... start out with a short block - part number M-6007-D514.... 520 Cubic Inch... 625HP / 600ft/lb... out of the box... Just think what you could pump THAT puppy up to!
now.. back to the 3v 281... it is MY understanding that the engine is only able to be pumped up to around 750HP and your REALLY pushing the limit with that! Also.. if you did get that.. the Life Span of the engine is VERY Short. and would have a horrible Mean Time Between Failures.
