Why didn't it cover the shifter??

what was the root cause of failure? How does a shifter get bent anyway?

They said they would only cover it if "broken". I'm pretty sure I'd have bigger problems if it were actually broken in half.

None of the service guys could explain why. They all knew something was wrong when looking at the position of the shifter in each gear relative to other 05-09 GTs

I purchased the car this way and thought is was normal and was even told that the sound was normal from this transmission. I don't want to think about the hell this car could have went through in its first 31K miles with the previous owner.

Cos the warranty is probably not Bumper-to-bumper. Most people that buy extended warranties don't read the fine print for what is and is not covered or the warranty itself won't state it in plain English.

And like stated above even if the warranty does cover it, there are certain criteria that have to be met.

Save your cash and get an after market unit when you can afford it. Dont worry about what the previous owner did with your car. These cars are tough.

As others have said, I'd just look into getting an aftermarket short shifter. You and a couple of friends can make a "garage day" out of it!

Y'all won't believe what the problem was! I won't say what we found because I don't wanna steal his thunder, but it was very strange! Hopefully Rocket will post soon!
