Default 05 zex nitrous kits

I am a first time user with nitrous and I was wondering if a one hundred shot was too big for a completly stock 05 gt? I heard the transmission was but what about the clutch?

The clutch will be fine with stock tires. You wont get enough traction to hurt it. The only problem is that with 100hp, you need to change the stock plugs to a set that have a heat range that is one step "colder". I posted a thread a few days ago with info on where to buy these. If you keep the spray down at 75hp, you should be ok with the stock plugs. I would still recomend buying a set. I will be installing the same Zex system as soon as it arrives (hopfully Monday or Tuesday). Ebay had the system for $499 and free shipping. I couldn't resist.

I'm running the 100HP shot in my 05 V6 (GT kit fits perfectly! ) my car is an automatic though... As Lime pointed out unless you stick a pair of slicks on the back the clutch should be ok...

One thing to remember.... If you go above 75HP you need to get a good tune... above 75HP you'll need to pull timing. With the 100HP you need to pull 2 degrees. You'll also need to run 91+ Octane...

Here's my setup:

05, if you dont already have a tuner for your car, i wouldnt run the nitrous. the kit is very easy to install, the power gains are great for the money, but to put it on a new mustang with no tune, imo, would not be good. i run the 125 shot with ht1 plugs, but they are making colder plugs now. if you have a local tuner, check with them. if you do put it on without the tune, let me know what happens. i think the computer will go into limp mode. the clutch on these cars is pretty weak. after about 20 passes at the strip mine is gone. but that was 399rwhp with the 125 shot. 499 is a great price too. i got one of the first ones and paid 600 for it. good luck, jt
