Default Amsoil MTG/ warranty

I have a 2012 Mustang GT equipped with the getrag MT82 transmission. I plan on changing the fluid for the first time with amsoil mtg which seems to be the most used here on the forum. If I change the myself, will the warranty be voided? Also is there a fluid level sensor inside the transmission casing that detects fluid level, which could let the dealer know I changed it?

Thanks in advance

You'll have to excuse my behavior, I wasn't held enough when I was a child. I will refrain from bashing member's questions and really try to be respectful and helpful instead of acting like a jack ***!

Please forgive my stupidity and arrogance!

Not sure what your smart *** remark is for buddy, many dealers will void warranty for odd things, maybe someone should teach u a thing or two sometime

No, it will not void your warranty if you do it yourself. It would be illegal for the dealer to require the work be done by a dealer. Read up on the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act.

Also, using aftermarket parts/fluids will not void your warranty either. It will only effect the warranty covering a repair to the part of the car you changed. So if you put aftermarket oil in the transmission and your motor blows up the repair for the motor will be covered because the oil in the tranny (most likely) did not cause the motor to blow up. But if the tranny blows up, and you used the wrong fluid, then you would not be covered. So just make sure your using the correct fluid for your transmission and you will be fine. Good luck...
