No problems here in central Maine with my 17in cobra's and semi worn out eagle rsa's. Unless you get tons of snow up underneath the car or something. So 6+ and there is a little work involved in getting the car out of the driveway. But momentum is your friend and enemy, so use it wisely!

I drive 70 in CO all the time. Chains have only been required for commercial vehicles this year so far, so while I don't want to rain on your parade, telling folks chains were required is a bit misleading. Regardless, good job driving it. I don't drive my stangs in the snow anymore mostly to be honest because of all of the idiots who have moved to CO from places like CA and the southern states and I'd rather they hit my pickup then one of my sweet rides.

On another note, the last big storm that hit us I saw a panel van and a 4wd pickup wreck during my commute. Then I had to drive up to Boulder that day and saw 3 Subaru's in the ditch which was just crazy. Not saying I recall seeing a bunch of mustangs on the road, but like someone said earlier, 4wd/AWD is great to get you going, but really isnt going to help if you don't have the skills or you push the vehicle beyond it's limits.

Another big risk that people need to remember is that the wildlife comes to the lower elevations this time of year, so please watch your speed. Elk, deer, big horn sheep, etc... get on I70 frequently and not only will you feel bad for killing the poor animal, you're probably going to total your ride in the process, so exercise caution.

12.31.13 @ approx 10:30p Mountain Time. Chains were required that night. Snowstorm came in, the "chains required" signs were lit up. Cops everywhere, cars pulled over to the side of the roads everywhere.

Case might be different for regular vehicles, but my newly wedded spouse (the day prior) was freaking out and couldn't handle it, I took over the seat, and got us through it.

Hey guys, did some more searching and can't find very many good deals close to me but found a large dealership about 7 hour drive away that has base gt's for just over 23k and V6's for 15k base or 17k with a few options! Wow, great prices and may be worth the drive and may be worth it if I even lose a grand or two on trade-in. I'm almost tempted to look at the V6's at that price as it wound leave room for mods. I also am thinking of looking for a base with Recaros, anybody have those and if so how do you like them?

I traveled eleven hours away to buy mine for three thousand less than my two, smaller, local dealers. Was very concerned that my pricing was for real as I was taking a flight to the dealership but the deal was exactly what was shown online. My pricing was over a thousand less than ford employee invoice plus I got the ford rebates and the 750 coupon. However those numbers you are quoting seem a bit implausible to me?
The V6 is a great car with plenty of power and I was leaning that way until I actually drove the V8. Game over for me. The coyote motor is world class awesome.

Well they have a couple silver base gt's MSRP 31,695 and it says VIP price 23,324. In the small print it does say that it excludes the $689 freight, processing, tax, tags fee.

The only bad thing is I just wrecked my gen again on the way home from work. I got pulled into the ditch from a snow and ice rut. There doesn't seem to be any major damage, just the front bumper, but I have a $500 deductible and the tow guy suggested I don't claim it and try too find someone to fix it reasonable so my rates won't go up. My previous claims were all comprehensive-hitting deer, dog, and branches from a storm.

Anybody? I'm not sure what to do with my car. I'm thinking of just getting it fixed on my own if the estimate isn't much more than 500-600 or so. I'm hoping I'm not SOL as far as carmax lowering the value on my car for my previous claims. They were all fairly minor-just cosmetic, no driveline or mechanical issues. I'm guessing it wouldn't be a good idea to try to trade it in as is? Its just the passenger right side front bumper that is broken as far as I can tell.

Did you get an estimate from a body shop?.... And if its damaged underneath the bumper fascia you could just buy a replacement bumper fascia and paint match it...then cover up all the bad stuff.

The only bad part is not going to be your burden if CarMax completes the deal base on initial estimates.... It will be the person who buys it afterwards if they ever get into an accident and the structure under that fascia doesn't react according to OEM spec. Then again...how will they ever know unless they take off the bumper fascia beforehand to have a look.

Not sure how Hyundia prices are for replacements parts like that... But If it was that minor, I would tackle it myself..... Still run it by a shop for an estimate first.

Sorry, I meant carfax in my most recent post. I was thinking of going to a carmax though to see what they would give me for it. So I take it, its in my best interest to get the damage fixed before taking it anywhere to see about a trade in? It would be so much easier to take it to whatever Ford dealership I decide to get a stang at (if the deal is good of course), but I'm pretty sure I'm going to take a loss if I go now. In a few months may be better. Then again my car may be worth less and there may not be as good of deals or selection, or maybe not.

btw, I got an estimate of about $860 and they said they would work with me a little if I had to pay out of pocket, but not a whole lot. The insurance guy said my rates wouldn't go up since I've been accident free for 10 years so I think I'll just claim it and pay the $500 and have them check the alignment and make sure everything is alright. What sucks is I still have to pay the wrecker and for the ticket unless I decide to fight it.

A couple more things guys; Would you recommend the auto or manual and where to find one with Recaros? I'm thinking I want a base 5.0, man. trans with recaro seats, preferably black or gray, but maybe ruby red, blue or silver. After searching, it doesn't look like there are any on the lots with recaros. Do you think it would be possible to order one from a local dealer to get a deal even close to the prices that the place was offering that is a 7 hour drive away? I'm guessing they are that cheap because they are the leftovers in stock that nobody else has wanted to this point.
