ill have to look at my fuse box tonight. there should be a whole section of fuses at are only hot with battery voltage (12volts) when the key is in the run position. and even better if theres a empty fuse spot already. ill get back to you after i look at my car tonight

i bought the autometer tach drive, rpm switch and shift light. i havent put it in yet but from what i can tell i will do it the same way i did the electric waterpump. run the 12v wire inside the car and use a blade connector and plug it in to an empty fuse slot. if i was you i wouldnt cut any wires for anything. use the splice connector that you dont have to cut any wires. if you ever have an electrical problem you can take the car back to the dealer without cut wires and get it fixed under warranty. also if you make a mistake all you do is remove the connector. this is just my opinion, but i wouldnt cut any wires. if you dont mind, how much did you pay for all your stuff? for the autometer stuff it was like 200 bucks. good luck, jt

use the blade type connector, its flat like a screwdriver. you may have to trim it up a little to get it to fit, but you should a few open fuse slots inside the car. look at the owners manual and it will tell you.

If you are tapping into any wire I would use solder and heat shrink. It makes a clean looking, realiable connection that will not come apart. Ever. Those stupid plastic connectors are intended for temporary use only and they are NOT reliable. The metal parts of them are usually made from aluminum and aluminum corrodes if used for electrical serice. There's a reason aluminum was outlawed in home electrical service! It will also corrode if used under the hood as these connecters are not usually weather sealed.
Solder and heat shrink! I cannot stress this enough. SOLDER and HEAT SHRINK!!!
