Default Which Actuator Motor is Bad?

I'm not getting any air out of my four dash vents. Rather, all air is being directed through defrost vents, regardless of setting chosen. Temp control works fine. Air blows hot or cold as selected.

I know there are two actuator motors that control air flow to the appropriate vents, but I'm not sure how they react if one is not functioning.

I already ordered a replacement, since both motors are the same part. I'm hoping someone might save me some labor by knowing for sure which motor I should replace given my symptoms. Anyone?

I've tried selecting each AC function for 60 sec to try to free up any stuck mechanism with no result.

There was no clicking coming from dash, as described in similar threads, at any time. The problem occurred suddenly.

You haven't messed with the plugs behind the panel have you? Mine did that before since I didn't seat the plug all the way or it was in there wrong, don't know but I re-did it and it started working fine.

I just had the same problem in my 2014 Gt500. The dealer replace all of them, I think there where 2. The parts are all the same #, and so is the engineering # is the same so nothing has been changed in that dept...

I haven't been into the dash before the problem started. I have stuck my head under both sides of the dash while selecting different AC settings in an attempt to hear a problem; however, there was nothing unusual detected.

The floor vents still work perfectly, so I think its the actuator motor on the driver's side.

They call it a blendor motor (spell check), I am pretty sure the one in the middle of the dash controls all of the dash vents (4)

Got it fixed today. I checked with the dealership, and they were willing to give me a deal on the Air Door Actuator I needed for $47. I bought it on ebay for $20 delivered.

There are two motors that control the vents (on either side of the dash), and one that controls the temperature diverter (the lowest motor on the passenger side). I changed the vent motor on the passenger side. I knew I needed to change that one because it started making the signature clicking noise a couple days after my original post.

The plastic gears inside of these motors are crap, and they break or strip frequently. I just replaced the same part on my 08 Explorer a couple of months ago.

I've heard of dealerships charging $500 to $650 to do this repair. It cost me $20.88 and an hour of sweaty contortionism under the dash.
