Default Door panels off, noticed this

My door panels have been off for the past few days. They are at the upholster getting the saggy vinyl replaced with suede. I've been riding around without the panels in obviously and it was raining yesterday when I noticed that there was some water leaking in behind the plastic sheeting that sits behind the inside panel. Is this normal or do the panels hold something tight to form a seal somewhere to prevent that leaking? I am trying to figure out if I can keep driving like this or if I should park the stand under my garage to prevent any more damage than I may already have done.

it's normal. That plastic sheet is a water shield, it's there to prevent water from getting into the interior. The inside of the door is considered a "wet" zone.

your door has drains at the bottom for any amount of water to run out

Make sure those drains are free of plugs as they always clog up and allow water to build up and run inside the car.
But yeah, water getting inside the doors is perfectly normal and unavoidable anyway.

From what I understand though, to properly drain water from both doors, you have to open the doors. This sorta slants the door bottom to move the water. For example, after I leave my car in a big rain, I open the door, and all this water comes out the front and rear slot. Think about this a minute, and consider the issues. So what if you are the main passenger in the car and you don't open the passenger side door often, does the water stay in there??? I suspect this is the case. Really not ideal if you want to avoid corrosion.
