If auto gears, torque convertor, slicks. Manual slicks, cams, long tubes, lots of time shifting. And both cars will need LCAs

simplest way to do it is just race 1/8 mile tracks!

I have many mods, you can see them in the link on my sig. This was July 2013 my second run, i don't have a video of the first run which was 12.01. Made tons of changes this past winter so, I expect to be in the 11's. With some seat time mid 11's I hope. That Chevelle make me look slow, that was a 10 sec car.

Mind you, this is the first time on the track in 45 years!

I noticed a few commented on the video I posted, just wanna add that's not my car hahaha. I do however have an 06 with basically all the same mods and a few more. Same exact tires and all in the vid. I liked it cause I knew what my car could do with the right driving. To answer the question, the best mod is tires and driving! A few bolt ons don't hurt obviously but the car in the vid doesn't have a whole lot done to it considering the possibilities and no FI.

+1. I looked like an idiot at the track the first time I went because I ran a 15 or something stupid slow. It takes some practice to get the launch down, and then you need the traction.

If your in an auto you will need a new torque convertor, cai, tune, tires, LTs and maybe cams to hit 12s. With a manual just bolt ons, tires and the willingness to do 5k clutch dumps.

My car runs 12.2s. For this run I had my slow 12.90 bracket tune in.

To get a 4.6 in the low 12's you will need more then tires, tune and bolt-ons. As some have mentioned before, you will need either tires tune, nitrous and driver skills or tires, tune, a supercharger and driver skills and everything that goes with either power adder that will make your car safe and reliable. Adding tires, tune and blot-ons will get in the low 13's to mid 12's range. But you will still need driver skills to reach the 12's.
