Default Chrome wheel cleaner

Hey guys,

I want to know what you recommend to help keep a good shine for my new chrome wheels as well as what can make it easy to get them clean when washing. What is really good for removing road scum and brake dust without damaging the finish or having to scrub stuff off.

Thanks.

If it's genuine chrome, I use meguire's hot wheels chrome cleaner, it's an acidic spray that cuts right into the road grime. I wouldn't use it on black chrome or anything with a clear coat or even polished aluminum. but for chrome, get the wheels hosed of, spray it on, let it work for about a minutes and hose it off (with a pressure washer if possible), no scrubbing needed. After that you can even improve the shine some more with a chrome polish, but it's not necessary.

I bought them from American Muscle. So I am assuming they are real chrome.

This.

The Meguiars is like a hot knife through butter. It is simply amazing. If the wheels aren't real chrome they have other wheel cleaners as well.

Like most of their products it is a bit pricey compared to Turtle Crap and the such - but you get what you pay for.

If the description for the wheels said triple chrome plated and it's the traditional chrome color you should be good. Black chrome is usually either a tinted clear coat paint over a chrome finish or a just special powdercoat finish over a bare metal wheel.

I've been using this http://www.poorboysworld.com/wheel-sealant.htm on my chrome wheels. Really seems to keep the brake dust from collecting on them & makes them easier to clean.

I used the Maguire's Hot Rims Chrome cleaner. Then just a damp microfiber towel to finish the cleaning.
