Question HELP PLEASE!! custom tune issues and car won't start!

Well, I went to re-upload my 93 Brenspeed custom tune, which it did complete. However, the car would not start???? The (Anti-theft) red light keeps blinking and the car will not kick over.

I attempted to load the stock tune and now it states "incorrect vehicle" Error 1027. I also attempted to reload any of the custom tunes (87, 89, 93) and my vehicle is not recognized. It states "Incorrect Vehicle".

Is there an easy fix or will I have to wait until Monday to contact SCT or Brenspeed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am freaking out a bit, since I just got back from vacation and was off of work for whole week. Now, my car won't start. :/

Been to the Dealer lately perchance? Did they update your strategy? If so you are screwed.
If not, disconnect the battery for about a hour, then try and start it. If not, I dunno.

No, I have not been to the dealer in a long time.
I did disconnect the battery and it did not help.
I am going to contact SCT tomorrow and see if their tech support can help.
I hope all I need is updates or something!

Doing some searches on the error code is seems that you are on the right track contacting SCT vs Brenspeed. Here is a process that SCT had posted on the error. It might be worth a try.

Have you tried updating the firmware on the tuner itself using the SCT Software?

Just a quick update, a HUGE thanks to Jose at SCT. I called SCT this morning and spoke to Jose in tech support. He is a great guy and was able to remote connect to my PC and upload all of the newest firmware onto my SCT tuner. He also checked my custom tunes and did not see anything wrong with them (Corrupt). He was able to get my Mustang to load my stock tune and my 89 custom tune, however my 93 tune is still not working. He was not sure why the 93 custom tune wasn't working and he said I need to contact Brenspeed and have them re-write the tune and upload to the SCT tuner and it should work. Thank you Jose and SCT!!!

Eddie,

I attempted to search for the updates on SCT website, however my Xcal3 is so old, my SCT tuner device was not recognized. Also, my hard drive crashed several months ago and I guess the SCT driver did not transfer over to my new hard drive.

Jose was able to load a new driver and install all of the necessary updates. He was great to work with and took about an hour to get my issue resolved.

I felt huge relief when I uploaded my stock tune and it started up!!!!

My biggest fear with tuning is that the PCM gets bricked. I've had my tune upload error out on me once and left the dash display with ---ERROR--- and a No Start condition. Thankfully when I shut everything off and started the process over again it went without a hitch.

Glad to hear you got it worked out!

Yeah, that is a big fear I have as well! If the PCM bricks, the dealer would have to fix it and I read it is not cheap.
This was my first ever issue, I've had my SCT tuner since 2010. I've changed tunes close to 8 or 9 times since owning it.
Thanks man and good to hear your error was corrected as well!
