I have 2013 conv V6. 19 in avant grande wheels, SVE Progressive Rate Lowering Springs but the car is little to bouncy for my taste. How can I improve my suspension??

 

You need stiffer shocks and struts to provide better damping of the springs.

 

the koni str.t shocks and stuts work good for getting rid of the bouncyness....I lowered my car and kept the stock shocks and struts and it was really bouncy. switching to the shocks made a huge difference and solved the problem.

 

any recommendations??

Did you change the rear bump stops or cut the top off the stock set? When you lower if you leave the stock bump stops it will be a rough/bouncy ride. I had the same thing on my 2006 when I put the Roush rear springs in, and when I cut the top off the bump stop it was improved 100%

 

Too bouncy is shocks, I think specifically too little rebound damping where you end up with too much upward body movement because the stiffer springs are overpowering the shocks or struts. In some cases, a bouncy ride can be caused by mismatched front and rear spring rates, but even that is a situation where shocks that are too soft or worn out only serve to make worse.

Bump stop issues usually show up as a ride that's too harsh - feels like the car hits things too hard, which you feel as a stinging impact kind of thing right when you hit a bump rather than as body motion afterward.


I'm betting that this installation was with new springs only.
