GT/CS front license plate?
I recently brought my GT/CS to its homeland of California where, among other things, a front plate seems to be required "for vehicles designed to mount a front plate"
Since I bought it in Florida, it didn't come with holes in the front bumper or a bracket or anything.
So lots of questions
1) Since my car doesn't appear to be designed for a front plate, do I need one?
If I need one,
2) I saw a Corvette with a front plate that had the same numbers as his back plate, but the front plate only had the numbers and was about the size and shape of a European plate. Is that actually an option?
3) I saw this flip-out plate holder from American Muscle, but I'm unsure whether it can actually be mounted well on a CS front bumper
So I need help

I think you will need one if you're going to register it in CA. Other members here have front plates too on their cars in CA.
For the size of the plate, I would ask the DMV in your state.
I don't think that fits on a CS bumper, per the page:
But I'm sure another vendor has a kit that will work with that front end clip if you don't want to drill into the bumper.

Note: Not compatible with the CS/Boss Front Fascia with Splitter or Roush Body Kit.

You need one. Although you should be ok for a while since you have out of state plates.
I see euro plates from time to time but IDK the process of going about getting one, or if they're 100% legal. You'd really need to call the DMV.

Joo, who let you out of your cage? You're not supposed to be outside of offtopic!
Yes in CA you will need front plates as there are 2 very hard to see but they are there dimples on your front bumper to drill plate holes. Order the craigs custom. It is fantastic and there are no permanent mods to mount it. I run one and its perfect.
Now back to your cage and take 99gtvert with ya! Lol (yes, im kidding)
Ive heard from an LE friend that they dont like flip plates so be careful if you order that. He said its easy to hide and makes you a bit suspicious so dont be surprised if you get pulled over.

Hey Joolander,
That's a great question and I don't believe that this can be used on your GT/CS - It's a universal kit and we've had customers put these on Ferrari's before and if you wanted to have it purchased just to take a look and maybe test fit it you can do so - In the event that you just can't get it to work you could shoot me a private message and I'll cover the shipping back to AM for a 100% refund.
Sorry I wasn't much help on this but let me know if you're to have any questions and I'm here to help!
Alex
Yes, California vehicle code requires vehicles to have plates front and rear plates, 5200(a)CVC, "when 2 are issued". I know I make traffic stops for this violation all the time. 9 times out of 10 I don't give people a citation unless they are outstanding citizens.
