Default koni orange will not thread top nut

IDK if the thread is bad on the shock itself but the top nut will not go any further than two revolutions. The whole thing starts spinning and there is nothing else to grab onto to tighten that nut. They came with no hardware so I'm reusing the old hardware. I put the nut on the old Monroe shocks and it spins nicely. So I think AMERICAN MUSCLE sent me a defective part. or two. I don't know what to do besides putting the old shocks back on and returning the Konis.
Upon my installation, I connected the bottom bolt first, then the top nut and there really wasn't enough of that top thread to put the nut on! I kept turning the whole bolt and nut. How is this supposed to be done? I have seen videos and read installation manuals and it seems so easy! This is a first time for me. Am I missing something? besides brain cells? lol Help?

I thought this was going to be easy<br/>

the nut stops here

I didn't even see a thread at first

Well, you can do one of two things. You can drop the car back on the ground so the shocks come up. OR you can jack the pumpkin up while its in the air. You just need to raise your axle a bit or put the pressure of the car on the shocks and then the threads should come all the way through.

The threads on the Koni shock are most likely a different than the nut you are trying to use. That's why it only goes one one or two twists. Go to a hardware store with a new shock and find the proper thread for the nut you need.

Hold the center part with a box wrench then turn the nut with another box wrench.

Thanx for replying
With the car on the ground the thread still did not show. I had to use pliers to pull the tip up and it took some effort that bushing is a tight fit! But I got just bareley enough thread to show to start the new nuts I got. Thanx again. I was replacing Gabrielle Ultras which were not from the factory, I think Ford uses motorcraft shocks from the factory. Anyway, the Konis are designed to use the nut from the factory shock. I bought a couple of nuts at Autozone that fit! Thanx dudes.
