Default Which CAI?

I am looking at two different CAI's. One is the JLT and the other is the JMS. Which one is better? Do you recommend one over the other and why.

I can only speak from experience. I have the C&L with 93 oct tune from Brenspeed. Made first trip to the dyno yesterday. Put down 286 hp and little under 300 tq. Intake is only mod on my 05 manual. I was pretty happy with the numbers. Almost squeezed 300 out with only the intake (after playing around with the tune a little). I was goign to be happy with 280 hp, but ended up with 297! I don't know about any others, but this setup definately impressed me.

I have JLT and love it. It's not an overly expensive CAI and you can get some real good power out of it with a tune. It also looks real good. My numbers are in my signature and here is a picture of what it looks like installed:

I'll tell you a short story about the first time my wife took her new pony to work.

There is state route 94 that she takes to work every day. The first time she went down that road in her car, she thought the route number was the speed limit. She said she looked down at the speedometer and she was going 90 and it didn't even feel like it. I am just glad there were no cops out at 6 in the morning.

Now if she would have a CAI and a tune, she would be doing over 100. Besides, she don't want all that cool stuff on her car. She doesn't like the sound of my car because I swapped the stock mufflers for the SLP Powerflo's. She said they are too loud for her taste. So I will keep her car stock for when we travel and use mine for all the added goodies.

Not a bad idea, stock one for the wife and a modded one for you.

Default RE: Which CAI?

So I have a bone stone car that I believe stock excluding the Macs' axlebacks, has the highest degree of horsepower to the wheels possible being stock(270?) I don't want to buy high octane gas and will purchase the C/L kit with the tune from brenspeed that is for the regular gas. What will I register? Will I be satisfied or should I use the 700 plus dollars for another mod? Also does it take much to install these yourself. I'm not a mech. but I believe I should be able to handle this on my own. My wife isn't so sure.
