Exclamation Pypes mid-muffler true dual exhaust questions

I've done a good amount of research, and most people seem to be very happy with their Pypes exhaust system. But I've visited multiple local muffler shops and more often than not, shop owners with 15+ years of experience in mufflers/exhaust systems say that Pypes is complete garbage. Instead, they always seem to push Flowmaster or Magnaflow.

On the other hand, most of the reviews online agree that Pypes is a great bang for your buck, and actually sound better than the uber popular flowmaster and magnaflow at a fraction of the cost.

Now, my concern is the quality of the product. I've seen plenty videos, and I'm pretty convinced I prefer the Pypes deep throaty sound over the others. But I've also read that Pypes in fabricated in China (quality control can be suspect). So I'm wondering if the quality of the product will match or at least come close to market leaders. I want this exhaust to last a few years at the minimum.

Has anyone installed the installed the Pypes mid-muffler true dual (or any Pypes product actually), and how is it holding up after some use?

Thanks, I appreciate any feedback.

I had mine on for many years now.....holding up very well. The only issue was the clamps. I have a write up on here somewhere....I'd have to look for it. I posted pictures with it.

Mine were garbage. They never fit right and they started to rust a bit (when I lived in California). They sounded good, but I hated them.

It seams like the early mid-muffler kits had fitment issues, my passenger side tip hung lower than the drivers side. It also took a good while to get the small length pipes in the middle fit right, and yes the clamps were cheap, but even with that I love my mid mufflers, and would never trade, the sound is just too bad @$$, and all my pipes are still in good condition.

I've owned quite a few pypes products. The quick and dirty run down is, If you're looking for cheap, but decent parts, go for it, they are affordable, made from good strong material, and they give exactly what you'd expect for the price, nothing more, nothing less. If you want the best of the best, you have to pay for it. I've got pypes headers and and pypes mid/over axle pipe set, but I put Borla mufflers on. I love the way she sounds, and wouldn't trade it for anything.

My experience is that they sound great and hold up well once you get any fitment/alignment issues sorted out. That's why you pay more for other brands, the other brands are true out-of-the-box replacements.

Pypes almost always requires tweaking during/after install. So, if you've got the time, Pypes is good.
