Please report back if a dead battery was the issue and the ECU was reset by a code reader.

I am a little irritated because I copied down on my smart phone the codes that were set. I copied them down so that I could research them on the internet.
There were 3.
One of them was about charging system low or something like that. It showed the battery at 7.9V as 'low point recorded'. I am not sure what it actually said because I felt I wouldn't have to remember, because I could look up the codes in the house.
I got into the house and looked at the phone and they were gone.
Somehow I lost the document I was writing to.

I remember one of the codes said something about throttle low point.

Anyway I'm irritated because I figured I could do research and not have to depend on my feeble memory.

After charging the battery all day, I checked it and it was 12.6V. I reconnected the battery and the car started right up, no check engine light and the transmission shifts now.
Next time I'll just take a picture of what the codes say and not type them in. I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place.

Thanks for all the help, all seems well now. I just won't let it sit that long again. We have snow here and the 5.0 does not do well even on a flat street with snow. So I've not been driving it.

Thanks again,

M
