06 GT convert upgrade ?s
Ok, so I bought a nice clean stang, and thinking of adding some parts, looking for the best priced options, looking at cold air intake, new plugs since I don't think they've been changed, like to change mufflers too, so any help would be appreciated . Don't want really loud pipes cause its a convertible u know

I have an 07 GT. I bought new mufflers from a place called Ninosport. They were the mufflers Ford used on the Shelby GT350 model, which I believe the only made in 06 and 07(also used on the Hertz models). These are great, not too loud, but very throaty on start-up and if you get into the throttle. Get the Champion one piece plugs, do a search on how to remove the old ones. I have bought tunes from three different places, but the only one that will pass NY inspection is from American Muscle. Too bad, because the other tunes made the car a with a lot more pep,

The Hertz GTH used the Ford GTB muffler (same as the Bullitt)

They had them from 1965–1970 - Shelby GT350
They brought it back as GT350 in 2011
A convertible version was offered for 2012, the first convertible GT350 since 1970.
So, there are S197 chassis GT350s.
Then released again in 2015.
However:
2006 was the GT-H, celebrating the GT350H from 1966, and only 500 were made.
2007, a convertible version of the GT-H was offered, revisiting 1968, only for rentals at Hertz.
Don't know how many were made in 2007 for Hertz.

I stand corrected. Apparently the model was called the Mustang Shelby GT, it was pretty much the same as the model made for Hertz (GT-H), except that it had 18" tires instead of 17", and you could get it with a manual transmission, whereas the GT-H was only available with the automatic. Basically stripes, a more aggressive tune, and upgraded suspension components. What I remember the most is the terrible fake hood scoop pop riveted onto the hood. However, they did have different mufflers, made by the folks who make Cherry Bomb mufflers I believe. Ninosport was selling a pair for under $300, and I bought some. They were just the ticket. I have a friend who is a big Chevy guy, has a vette, but he loves to hear my car start up, says the05-09 cars are the best looking ones, other than the 67-68 model years.
