The dash on my 2005 has been cracked at each end of the defrost grille for several years now. I've been patiently waiting for some sort of fix that is much more reasonable than removing the whole dash and buying a new one. I have a CNC machine, so I just decided to try to come up with my own fix. I've got a prototype I am pretty pleased with, as far as appearance goes, but affixing the new piece to the existing dash has been the biggest challenge. There just doesn't seem to be a glue or tape that holds to the factory dash material as well as I would like.
I wanted to reach out and see how many 2005-2009 owners have the same problem. If there is enough interest, I am willing to put in the effort to develop an easy to install solution and sell them, and I believe I can do that in the $80-$100 range.
Mine cracked as well with a 4 inch chunk broken out in the middle of the defroster vent. If still available: 19gorblimey61@gmail.com
Hello all. I've had my dash fix in for 4 years now, and I have been pleased with the piece. I feel like it almost looks like it belongs there. Nobody has ever asked about it or commented on it, and that was what I was going for. As I motioned before, there was some slight warping, but think most of that happened during the milling process. That can be corrected.
I haven't been avoiding the posts here. I've just been trying to solve the same problem I had in the beginning - mechanically fastening the piece in place. I'm an engineer, but not a professional manufacturer. I don't want to take anyone's money if I can't give them something that works and lasts. If there are enough of you that are still interested, I think I can make it work.
Another thing is that I don't know if my dash cracked in the same way as others. That is typically the case with mass-produced products, but I wanted to be sure what I made would work for everyone. If anyone could post pictures of their cracked dash, that would be a big help.
Also, for my repair to work, I removed the entire piece forward of the defroster vents, including the vent fins. Mother nature had done most of the work, as it was almost completely loose already.
Okay. I’m pretty happy with my design, and I’m going to order some materials. I’m going to put them on eBay when I get some produced. I think that will be easiest. I’m pretty sure I can keep it under $100, including shipping.
If you don’t have ebay, I will try to work with you
It is going to be a week or so before I have some ready to go. I have got materials on the way, and I have to get some shipping supplies. I am hoping to have it ready by the first of October.

Does anybody have a fix or aftermarket source for the dash vents like the ones in his pic here. All of mine in the dash have lost their ability to hold a position. They pretty much close themselves within seconds of setting them. I've not seen a reasonably priced replacement.
Anyone???
