Ok you electrical gurus, get in here
Hey All,
So I am going to be importing a wrecked 2012 Mustang S-197 convertible I won at IAA for a fun summer car on the cheap. (Cheap is the key word here).
Anyways, in order for the German government to allow this thing on the road it has to have ORANGE rear blinkers and a RED rear fog light.
You can see attached is what I intend to do to comply with German law.
In order to keep costs low I purchased a Curt 56088 trailer hitch wiring harness and will use the output from this harness inside the car to get the taillights to do what I want them to do. This isn't problematic.
What *IS* problematic is the bulb-out warnings I am going to get killed with by doing this. They make resistors with heatsinks like this:
Which would solve this problem, but I've used this solution on a Ford Mondeo (think Ford Fusion) previously and the things would get hotter than the surface of the sun and failed on a consistent basis. Thus, I am hoping there is a more intelligent solution out there than these things.
What do you guys do when you want to put LEDs in taillights?
Thanks in advance!
