Default Paint Protection

Has anyone seen or used this stuff before? http://www.5starshine.com/

Also, has anyone gotten the paint protection the dealer offers? Any opinions on it? I am usually pretty skeptical about this kind of stuff, but I seem to be hearing more and more about it.

I got the paint protection on my car from the dealership. I think it is a 5 year warranty. I got it because I knew the climate I live in would leave water spots on my (black) paint. I've had the car since April and I'm starting to notice some type of run off water spots on my hood. I called the people who I have the insurance with (can't remember the name right now) and told them about the problem. It is only noticeable on my hood. They sent me a claim form to fill out and they will tell me which shop to go to in the Houston area and they will clean up my hood for free! Can't beat that! I have yet to turn in the claim form though.

I'll have to look at my papers tonight when I get home. It wasn't cheep, but cheeper than having to refinish my hood every 6 months.

I'm not sure about this starshine, has anyone else used this, I am a little leary of a product to protect my paint
that gives you a terry cloth towel with it. I would never use terry cloth towels on my paint. Check some of the
forums used by the professional detailers.....

My paint protection is through Perma Plate. I don't remember what the cost was on it, I think it was one of the things I had the dealer throw in with the car.
