Default 2007 V6 problems with low beams

Hello Mustang forums!

I just purchased a 2007 Ford Mustang V6 and I'm currently in the process of getting it inspection ready here in Texas.

I'm having an issue with the low beams, the high beams seem to work just fine and I've checked all the fuses. This is my first Mustang and shes a bit of a project, but everything else is inspection ready.

Any idea what could be causing the issue? I thought maybe it was the bulbs, but I've already gone and replaced those. Any advice is very very appreciated!

I've never personally had issues with the headlights, but it looks like they (along with a whole lot of other things) are controlled by the Smart Junction Box (SJB), located behind the passenger-side kick-panel (interior).

The service manual lists several things to test. Note that some of the pages (notably Pinpoint Test A) are out of order
here, here, and here

Also in general you may want to check the SJB for rust/corrosion; these vehicles have a tendency to leak water onto that box, which can cause all kinds of gremlins for the unlucky.

I wonder if the switch can go bad, creating an open for the low beams, but allowing the high beams to work.
My switch has gotten pretty hot a few times on longer interstate runs at night.
