Default Shaker 500

We all have heard that the Shaker radios have an issue with draining our batteries. Back in March of 2014, I purchased a new battery and put a battery tender on it since I don't drive my car like I should. I bought this car brand new with only 3 miles on it straight off the car carrier. It has a little over 17k miles. Last week I had to purchase a new battery. Not bad considering batteries usually last 3-5 years...I got 11 years off of it! I do think it's because of having it hooked up to a battery tender. I plan on driving it at least once a week. I've been through a lot since 2021. I lost my son and his fiance in a garage fire. Then 2 months later my sister.
Then April of last year my husband. So I really wasn't in the mood to drive around. It's not my daily driver.
My question for all of you, what have you done to combat the radio draining issue? I know many have replace it with an upgraded system, but did that stop the drain?

what year? 2005-2007 were the years most affected. After those years, it's almost unheard of as Ford made some changes to address that issue.
