Female Drivers
Im kinda new to the site and I've been reading some threads on the 05 06 section of the forum and there is a lot of discrimination against women drivers. Yea, I do understand that there is a lot of bad women driver, but I think that there is a good amount of guy drivers that can't drive worth a **** either. Also, the fatality rate for men is considerably higher than women. Every body complains about the wife driving the car. I let my girlfriend drive my 05 GT when ever she needs it and shes never had anything happen to it. how does one explain that insurance is higher for men than for women? It does not really bother me, its just kind of an ignorant way of thinking in my opinion. I also think its kinda disrespectful for the female members. Here are some names of some women who would woop alot of guy's asses. It might sound kinda gay bring such a topic up, but its just funny to me how some guys can be so ignorant.

LOL odiaz! I think its because alot of guys are angry its their wives getting into accidents with their new Mustangs. You surely know most people are quick to complain and slow to compliment thus so many downing lady drivers it seems. Plus this forum is male dominated so the odds are greater they will complain about women drivers. Its the young male that insurance is high for because they are the ones that will take a risk or dare or speed more so than women. The boys around here really tear up their vehicles doing stupid stuff enough to tear up transmissions/clutches etc! I can't believe how destructive they are with their vehicles including my own 20 year old son. Thus its not surprising insurance is high for males...lot of times its their egos in the way.
I love our stang...if I ever get an inheritance anytime soon or win the lottery I want to buy a coupe just for me. So he can have the convert to himself and I'll just enjoy the coupe!

Well I know I'm gonna get bashed for this, but my theory on why men have higher insurence rates then women is because, well think about it, guy gets pulled over, he's probably going to get a ticket, women gets pulled over, depending on her looks (yea I know it's just wrong, but true) she may or may not get one. Another thing is that men are more prone to racing, younger men especially, but there are a good number of older men, like 30, 40, 50 years old that will still race from time to time. But there is one thing I see that is common in most women while driving. Around here I noticed that most women either are not paying attention while driving, or there mind wonders off in left field, or worrying, about other things than driving, yes I know men do this to, but seriously, women are way worst when it comes to this topic. Just to let you know I almost got in 3 accidents last month, would not of been my fault by the way, all of them were occured with women drivers, one cut out on Gause Blv. in slidell, which is extremely busy, now its a four way lane set up and there's heavy traffic in the right lane moving about 35-40 mph, the left was also heavy moving at about 45 mph, now this girl darts out infront of the right lane and stops, kid you not, dead center of my lane, I came probably withing 1 ft of kissing her rear end, and what did she do when she saw me comming, nothing didn't even try to get out of my way. The next week there is this lady in a Caravan that just changes lanes, not even looking I might add, and almost yet again hit me, I pulled to the left a little and I hit my gas and just barely got around her, because my options were, hit the van, hit the cement divider wall to my left, or floor it and hope for the best. The next week there is this chick that comes up behind me, I'm completely stoped at a light, she's talking on the cell phone, I swear I don't think she saw me till the last second, she hit the brakes at the last minute and had to run slightly off the road to avoid hiting me. Like I said I'm not bashing women, but I am saying that women need to pay more attention while driving, by the way I'm not saying all women don't pay attention, but a good majority are terrible at it. Oh, notice something else here 2/3 were young women, about my age, so I think the real problem is with these instances is that young women love to talk on the cell phone which seriously hampers their ability to drive, but I've also had many instances with older women just flat out not paying attention, but on adverage, the younger girls are way way way worse drivers.
I'm 48 and have been driving for many years. In a nutshell... Most women drivers either cause or involved in the majority of accidents (I've been in 4 in my life, all involved women). Sometimes they cause the accident without being involved. Trust me I've seen it. Here are a few examples, no turn signal used. Slamming on the brakes before truning, veering into the next lane to make a wide right turn. Going to slow in the fast lane on the freeway... blah blah blah! A few other observations...They are either on the freaking phone, talking to a passenger (front and back seat), or day dreaming and of course my favorite, putting on their make-up in rush hour traffic (this is a classic and I was involved in a rear end accident when a women was doing this one!). I say, take their phones away, put your make-up on at home, and make their chatty friends stay home and give em all driving lessons. I rest my case.

Yes, I see where everybodies coming from. I have witnessed it myself also that women getdistracted very easly with the phone and other stupid things. Ok si this is the girl's biggest mistake. But during my daily visits to this forum, I have read lots of threads that ask questions like "what performance mods should I buy", or "whats a Cold air intake and what does it do". I have seen that a lot of people in here are not very experienced with high performance vehicles. And yes, I understand that males insurance is high due to street racing and thier age. Im 21 and I myself streetrace from time to time, but isnt that a just an excuse? I mean, you shouldn't do it just like you shouldn't talk on the phone. But tell me one thing, whats more likely to kill a family coming home from dinner, two mustangs flying at 90+miles or a girl distracted rear ending some one at 30 miles.
Nice white Mustang by the way

My freind is one of those people who has to look at everything he is doing and talking to in the car. I don't know why he does this, but he will steer onthe highway with his leg, change cd's with both hands, and look at me asking what cd is good. JUST DRIVE. I WILL CHANGE THE FLIPPIN CD.
The worst is going to the BX at MacDill Air Force Base. There senior citizen count there is, well, really really high. I would say 80% of the people there are over 65 and driving around these huge boats for cars all while barely seeing over the steering wheel. This is the scariest to me. But I think an senior citizen woman is less dangerous than a young woman trying to run a beauty salon in that little mirror on the visor.
I haven't been in an accident because I pay attention to pretty much EVERYTHING on the road. The few times that I lost concentration or looked in the rear view mirror too long are the times when I've had to slam on the brakes.
This is my first car and I'm 23. I have been all over the world and I either rode a bike, took public transportation, or walked everywhere so you KNOW I don't want to do that again because someone wasn't paying attention to the road and took out my only car.

i find that women tend to try to do too much at once, which should not happen on the road
i have seen a woman talking on a cell phone, yelling at their kid in the back, drinking their starbucks, and putting on make-up at the same time...oh...and going 45 in a school zone because they are late for something
i think men are more likely to do something like speed or race, but this is all intentional, if you want to accuse us for stuff like this, i would agree with you
However, i have never seen a man pay as little attention to his driving as some (many) women do
as it comes down to it, i think men are less stressed out

diablito: I speak Spanish (NOT a common language where I live) and I think that name "diablito" is about the funniest thing I've seen in a while!
As for the discrimination against women drivers. There does seem to be a lot of it and I don't agree that women are any worse than men. There just seem to be a lot of crappy HUMAN drivers. That's all I have to say except for maybe..
Get off your cell phone and DRIVE!!!! Whoever you may be, man or woman. An idiot is an idiot.
Hasta luego!
