Default Kill Switch

Has anyone installed a kill switch in their car yet? I want to put one in and hide it somewhere for a sort of anti-theft thing. I would assume that you don't need to buy a kit, just a switch and wire it in.

I am not well versed in car electronics though, so if anyone has installed one please help

thanks
