Default Snow Kits?

Has anyone looked into a snow kit for a N/A engine? A snow kit advertised a 10-15 HP increase on low compression N/A engines? For $300 that doesn't sound too bad.

Yes, We used to do this in the 70's and 80's with water injection into the carbs, todays systems are more advanced and now use alcohol

SMC alcohol injection kit http://www.rjcracing.com/SMC_Alcohol...injection.html

To answer your question about whether the injection helps even though you don't have a SC... heck yeah! You can't really have too cold of an air temp I think.

FYI - you can use water/methanol (windshield washer fluid ~22% meth) in any system and the methanol causes the mixture to richen up. some will most likely end up running straight water or a very light methanol mix with water. That way it doesn't hose up the a/f ratio and still get the cooling effect of the water. The methanol will give a slight octane boost. More importantly in my opinion is the cooling effect of the water. Besides cooling the air, it gets sucked into the cylinders and I believe has to have a significant effect on cylinder head temp (makes it lower) which is a good thing.

Very good info.. what kind've HP/Torque gains would you expect with a kit on a N/A 06? GT or v6?

Don't expect huge gain without boost, water injector kits are designed to cool the air after it has gone through the boost process. on a N/A motor the the injector kit will cool the incoming air and intake manifold and as I stated before the heads. in the old days we would expect about 10 - 20 hp gains. In south Florida this was important because it's so hot.
I think with the new 4.6L motors the gains should be closer to 20 hp. On a boosted motor the gains are exponentially greater, I have seen gains upwards of 80hp.
